This record is a Bristolian link-up, with two of the city’s most prominent up and comers; (Mushkilla and Jevon Ives) joining forces to deliver their rugged and raw new EP ‘Dillinger’. With both parties having built up a solid following over the past few years, the ‘Dillinger’ EP sees Jevon and Mush trading bars over head-nod inducing, psychedelic infused beats (courtesy of Jevon himself).
The EP’s opener and title track ‘Dillinger’ lures the listener in with a cosmic vibraphone motif, before being joined by earth rattling subs and knocking beats - setting the perfect scene for Jevon and Mushkilla to go straight for the gold. An electric meeting of minds powered by psilocybin and good times, the EP emerges through a haze of heavy smoke - bringing dark moments, witty lines and infinite style together in perfect harmony. The duo’s contrasting tonalities perfectly punctuate the record - combining Jevon’s incredible ear for melody with Mush’s unmistakable flow.
