Wooden QR Code - No CNC: Links to My YouTube Homepage
Wooden QR Code made on a drill press. No CNC machinery was involved. The QR Code was design in Inkscape to encode the URL of my YouTube homepage.
I use my Shopsmith 510 in Drill Press mode to drill each cell. The main table's height adjustment crank is used to index the workpiece in the Y-axis. A special set of clamps, the Shopmate Maxi-Clamp, are used to index the work piece in the X-axis.
QR Code readers rely on high contrast to both detect and decode the QR Code. This is why most QR Codes you see are black and white. I use Dark Brown Rite Dye to achieve an adequate contrast between the drilled cells and natural wood field.
