So who remembers Pigsty? It featured siblings (I think) Pinks and Troyboy, two anthropomorphic pigs who run a diner attached to a recording studio, sometimes while wearing roller skates, sometimes accompanied by their cousin (I think) Little Pig, and often having to deal with shady landlord MT. It ran for two series on CBBC at the beginning of the 90s.
This episode (called Singing Fever), originally broadcast on Monday, 17th September, 1990, sees Troyboy fulfilling his dream of becoming a professional lead vocalist - or so he thinks, until sabotage rears its ugly head. Starring Richard Gauntlett, Tessa Crockett, Peter Mandell, and Mark Hadfield. I only recognised that last one (from People Like Us), but the others all boast decent credits, mainly as puppeteers. The guest star as Roxanne is Jayne Draper, who has sung and danced on the West End.
Not sure what to make of this show, all in all. It's quite... something. More to come soon.
Grateful thanks to Ben for providing this recording.
