This is a song that was sitting on the back burner on my external drive for several years (probably since 2017-2018 along with several others that are still slow-cooking for random release someday), before I finally dusted it off, added a lil more S&P, and released it. It’s a somber song reflecting on the emotions of lost friendships and how precious our short time is to build and foster meaningful relationships.

One of the holdups for releasing it was that I never wrote a second verse lyric, so it just sat on my hard drive with verse 1 copy/pasted as a placeholder for years. Then it hit me, after years of listening to this arrangement over and over, that lyrically, it sorta hits hard doing the same verse twice because there’s not much more that can be said sometimes when you’re sad. It’s like your brain is stuck on a loop and you can’t get out. The more I dwelled on that idea, the more I realized it was perfect just the way it was—so I released it.

I love the overall feeling of sadness and helplessness on this track too. My favorite part is the emotional crescendo in the outro and the clock at the end, sorta tying together the theme of how short and valuable our time is. Enjoy!
