A teenage Girl from the big city volunteers at the local pound where an injured black horse is in jeopardy of being put down. Her over-protective Father (Luke Perry) reluctantly agrees to let her adopt the horse and spend the summer in country with her Grandpa (played by Academy Award Nominated actor- Bruce Davison) - rehabilitating Black Beauty.
