Every year, generous individuals on Vancouver Island make donations to Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island in support of the Queen Alexandra Summer Camp.
Without the support of the community, this camp would not be possible. QA Summer Camp is an integrated summer camp for children with special needs and typical children. The camp is run by Island Health on the beautiful grounds of the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children's Health.
There is a 4 to 1 ratio of camp leaders to children, which ensures that every child can experience the magic of summer camp, no matter what challenges they face in life. With the help of trained staff, campers go kayaking and bowling; they perform songs and skits; they squeal with glee as they slide down the water slide and play hide and seek on the network of bridges through an enchanting forest.
All this is possible thanks to donations from the community to Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. Thank you for supporting children with special needs on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Your contributions mean the world to Island kids.
