What even IS the eye of a hurricane?
The 'eye' refers to the brief moment of calm in the center of a hurricane - and a satellite view immediately shows you why it has that name. When the water-y cloud mass swirls around (acting pretty much like a fluid) it pushes some of that mass outward - creating the eye in the centre.
You can create your own little hurricane in the bath tub and terrorize your duckies 🦆🌪️
