We head north out of Split, Croatia to check out the Eye of the Earth or also know as Izvor Cetine. It’s about an hour and 20-minute drive in a car and this spring has an extraordinary shape and color and is one of the longest rivers in Dalmatia – the Cetina. It runs for about 65 miles before letting out into the Adriatic Sea.

It is known as the “eye of the earth” due to its strong resemblance to an eye with varied shades of blue and turquoise. Seen from above, it is undoubtedly one of the most particular and fascinating beauties of the region. This small body of water is formed by a hole that penetrates depths unknown of the Earth, explored by divers who made it to 115 meters.

Once at the bottom of the trail, the water is so clear and butterflies are everywhere. Makes you feel like you're in a fairy tale.

The water is so cold at a temperature of 6 Degrees C. It's so cold it actually kind of feels like it's burning. But it's so beautiful that it draws you in.
