Program Highlights - Dentistry-specific Educational Resources to Recognise, and Respond
This video highlights the innovative suite of dentistry-specific educational resources to recognise, respond, and refer (RRR) to domestic and sexual violence (DSV). Hear from members from the inter-professional collaboration about the background to these suite of resources, as well as dentistry students who talk about the positive impact these educational resources have on their training to become dentists. Dentists are treating an increasing number of people who health is impacted by DSV. In addition, dentists are uniquely positioned to identify the signs during routine assessments, and they also encounter patient’s whose trauma is triggered by dental procedures. Building dentistry workforce capability in how to RRR to DSV will potentially enable more positive experiences and improved outcomes for patients, clinicians, health services, and therefore the wider community.
