MAKING JOURNAL TAGS WITH PAPER NAPKINS

FAUX AVOCADO DYE FOR COLOURING PAPER
THIS IS HOW I MAKE MY 'AVOCADO' DYED PAPER
make a container of tea about 1 litre water and 4-6 teabags
don't make the tea too dark
carefully add pink food colouring, a couple of drops at a time until the liquid is a rich reddish brown
soak the paper for at least 30 minutes
drain the paper
air dry or dry in the sun, in single layers
If you bake in the oven the paper will be more of a brownish colour, I found air drying got the pinkest paper

I am so grateful to be able to create, to heal and keep myself from going nuts in this crazy crazy world. I will often lose myself in a painting for hours, almost meditative in some ways and definitely takes my mind off my troubles.
I love painting with acrylics but give other mediums a try from time to time with varying success. I am never scared to try something new, you can see me giving it a good crack and sometimes nailing sometimes failing. Whatever happens, it's okay.
My new obsession is junk journalling and it is very addictive, I love it.
