Georgia Aquarium Tags Manta Rays off the Coast of Florida
Field research can be messy, but worth it! This spring, in partnership with BOEM, our team of researchers tagged manta rays off the coast of Cape Canaveral, FL. Utilizing these advanced tags, we can use this data to understand where these gentle giants go, for how long, and how they use their environment. All of this can help researchers understand more about these animals and create better informed conservation practices to hopefully help their population numbers.
