Bearing Tests for LTD Stirling Engine Project
http://StirlingBuilder.com - I am preparing to build a series of several low temperature differential Stirling engines and I wanted a definitive answer on what type of material to use for the bearings. I want to avoid the use of ball bearings to keep the costs down. I developed several of these test beds and I am testing over a dozen different materials to see which gives me the best glide times. I am also testing different lubricants to see if there are distinct advantages offered by any one of them. I am doing at least 10 trials with every configuration. The testing is not finished yet as I write this, so I don't have any results to share yet, but they will be coming.
