Beginner's Guide to Astrologian - FFXIV
This is my intro to the Astrologian! The Astrologian is a healer class that you unlock once you get to the city of Ishgard. It is a really cool class but I found it very confusing with the card mechanics and with the two sects. I go over and explain the skills from levels 30-50.
The advice given here is just for beginners. I do not have the experience nor the knowledge to give advice on end game strategy. If you are looking for that, check out The Balance Discord.

DPS Skills-
• Combust - Single Target DoT
• Malefic - Single Target DPS
• Gravity - AoE DPS
Healing Skills
• Benefic - Basic heal, has a change to make your next Benefic II skill restore Critical HP
• Benefic II - Stronger Heal more MP Cost
• Helios - AoE Heal
• Essential Dignity - Instant Cast Heal - oGCD
Buffs
• Lucid Dreaming - Mana regen
• Lightspeed - Reduces cast time by 2.5 seconds
• Synastry - Throw it on your tank to help keep them topped off
Stances
Diurnal Sect - Regen
○ Regens Stack
Nocturnal Sect - Shields
○ Shields Don't Stack
While leveling and doing level 50 content, the Regen sect worked better for me
Stills Effected by Stances
• Aspected Benefic - Either heal plus Regen OR Heal Plus Shield
• Aspected Helios- Either group heal plus group Regen OR Group Heal Plus Group Shield
Cards Skills
• Draw - Draws one of 6 cards and restores 10% of max MP
• Undraw - Returns the currently drawn card to your deck
• Play - Uses the currently drawn card
• Redraw - Level 40 - Useful when you want to draw a certain seal
• Divination - Level 50 - Build up different seals to give a party DPS buff.
• Minor Arcana - Level 50 - Upgrades the buff and removes the Seal associated with it- Use this when you don't want to save the seal associated with the card.
Arcanum Cards
• Melee Buffs: Balance, Arrow, and Spear - Blue Cross is for Melee
• Range Buffs: Bole, Ewer, and Spire - Pink Circle for Ranged
Seals -
The Seals have proper in game names but I call them this….
• Full Moon
• Red Sun
• Quarter Moon
Healer Skills
• Esuna - Gets rid of debuffs (That have the white bar on the top of the icon)
