Ableton Live Vocoder on a Snare Drum
This video will show a trick to enhance and/or effect a snare using a vocoder within Ableton Live.
This is just a basic example of blending a vocoded sound with a snare. Sure, there are other ways to achieve a similar outcome however, the focus was to share the signal flow with you and how quick and easy the setup can be.
Here is another way you can take this. For example, say you have a mix project from a client and the kick or snare just doesn’t have what it needs to drive the song. Maybe it was a poor recording or the sample wasn’t the best choice. Instead of just a quick layering of the sound as shown in the video, use the vocoder to tune or shape a snare or kick drum. Another one to add to the bag of tricks.
