Capitol Hillbillies Concert
The Capitol Hillbillies have been raising the roof with their rousing mix of barrelhouse blues, hot jazz, and jug band music for almost 40 years at venues across the D.C. area. They embody the spirit of New Orleans with steam-engine energy and carnival charm in rollicking shindigs that explore the roots of American music spanning the blues from the Delta to Chicago, Cajun and Appalachian tunes, early country and gospel, and a tantalizing taste of bluegrass.
Don't miss their FREE concert at the Takoma Park Community Center on May 31 at 7:30 pm. No tickets or reservations are required, and donations will be accepted to support the band. There is limited parking available at the police station at the Community Center, the Piney Branch Elementary School next door, or neighboring streets.
