Face the dragon and take the gold. Trying to steal the gold from the dragon is paradoxical. To get what you want, you have to do what you fear and don't want to do. Furthermore, to be good, you have to become a monster. You have to be a good spirit who knows you're a monster but doesn't use all your power. This is similar to the saying that a hero must be a monster. A hero has power, but uses it to save the world. A being without power and who doesn't harm others isn't good. They simply don't harm others. If you want what you want, you must cultivate your power, control yourself, confront the dragon, and retrieve the gold.
