🇪🇬 Is Egypt under occupation?
In this episode, I visit some of the most extraordinary sites of the ancient world – the Temple of Luxor, the Avenue of the Sphinxes, and the monumental Karnak complex. Walking among the columns, obelisks, and hieroglyphs, it's hard not to wonder: what happened to the civilization that created these wonders?
Why do modern Egyptians more often identify as Arabs than as the descendants of the pharaohs? Is there continuity between ancient Egypt and today's state, or has the history of this place been interrupted by successive conquests, religions, and cultures?
However, this isn't a film about who has the greater right to history. Quite the opposite. It's a story about the power of history to unite, not divide. It's about how great civilizations don't belong solely to their descendants, but are part of humanity's shared heritage.
