While on the comic book page, and even in cartoons from time to time, the X-Men and The Avengers have crossed paths, we’ve yet to see this happen on the big screen. And the reason for that was because up until very recently, the two properties' film rights were owned by different companies and that made a full blown Marvel crossover impossible to see in your local cinema.
But with Disney now owning both Marvel and Fox, it means that the mutants can finally be incorporated into the MCU for the first time. And this makes us closer than ever to seeing the two sides finally do battle in live action. How will this compare to the comics? That remains to be seen. But we for one can’t wait to see what it’s like when Wolverine and Captain America finally go one on one, or when Angel and The Falcon duel it out to see who the best flying superhero in the Marvel universe is.
And those aren’t the only battles the two sides can have either. No, there’s also something like Jean Grey and Scarlet Witch each using their telekinetic abilities in a war for the ages. And if not that then how about Beast and The Hulk squaring off, or Storm and Thor using the power of thunder and lightning on one another. Basically what we’re trying to say is there are endless combinations of great battles which could play out between the X-Men and The Avengers.
