In the new normal, we are finding more and more challenges in the legacy built world as we try to adapt our built spaces to the requirements of today’s post pandemic society. Mixed use developments and buildings are yet another interesting use case for us to discuss. This webinar outlines many of the issues facing mixed use developers and clients in a post pandemic world.
One of the biggest challenges for many return to work strategies is commuting, as public transit is a prime location for diseases like the coronavirus to spread. Bringing workers and residents closer to retailers so that they don’t have to travel far to shop and eat is one way to ensure people can safely go about their daily lives. Mixed-use developments eliminate the commute.
We’ll also explore the role of remote work, and the increased demand for having work space at your residence, or a communal work space close to your residence. Learn how real estate developers and designers can reimagine communal spaces to meet safety requirements post-COVID, enabling people to return to work, but do so in a safer and socially distanced manner. Technology will also play a key role in the new normal. Mixed-use spaces should deploy flexible IoT technology, such as touchless access control, occupancy tracking, and digital health questionnaires to design healthier workspaces.
