Arapahoe County classifies dispatchers as livesaving first responders.
On February 5, 2020, Arapahoe County made a bold move to reclassify its emergency dispatchers as first responders instead of clerical workers. The new status gives them access to better pay and benefits. Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown hopes other counties across the state and nation will follow suit.
