Forgotton Anne is essentially a playable cartoon that feels like an anime by Hayao Miyazaki. The story is compelling and the voice-acting is phenomenal for such a small game. The animation has a fairly low framerate, and I'm not sure if that's because of the limited hardware of the Switch or by design, but the cutscenes are animated with the same framerate so the experience is consistent throughout. The puzzles and platforming is not very intuitive, and the controls are sometimes sluggish which makes making progress slow at times, but not impossible.
