This video shows an interesting repair of a homemade VU meter (level indicator) for a PC, based on a ready-made fluorescent indicator from a Mayak tape recorder. The heart of the indicator, a specialized KR1534PP4 microcircuit, had damaged input circuits on one channel. It's very difficult to find a new KR1534PP4 microcircuit these days. The input switch was implemented using external components, and control was taken from the indicator grid controls. The indicator's operation was fully restored. In the video, an attempt was made to use the internal additional switch described in the KR1534PP4 microcircuit documentation. I'll explain how to power this level indicator from 5V and use a USB port for power.
