When a dog is exposed to high temperatures in summer and can't release the excess heat quickly enough, the risk of heatstroke increases dramatically. If its body temperature rises above 40°C (104°F), it can become dangerous for the dog.
Unfortunately, we humans are often responsible for dogs getting heatstroke. We take our dogs on bike rides in high temperatures, leave them in the car, or tie them up in the sun. If left alone, dogs would always seek out a cool place on their own.
