Hannah Tate is the Technical Director at Rock Point Church — and she just wrapped one of the best sermon series graphics packages I've seen from a church creative at her stage.
In this video, we sit down and walk through the full Rediscover Church series package: the hero graphic, the slide package, and the bumper video. We break down the creative direction, dig into the Photoshop and After Effects file structure, and talk through the specific techniques that made this package feel cohesive and tactile instead of just... digital.
Here's what we cover:
— Why Hannah chose a blueprint theme (and how it connected directly to the series message)
— The Photoshop trick she used to turn a photo into a hand-drawn sketch
— How to copy Illustrator layers directly into Photoshop as a smart object
— Kinetic text, paper textures, and how she built the bumper entirely in After Effects
— Using ChatGPT to write custom AE expressions
— What Hannah learned about planning a creative concept before opening Photoshop
This is a real package, from a real church, built by one person wearing a lot of hats. That's most of us.
