Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) travels to Antarctica to join a team of Norwegian scientists who have located an alien spacecraft trapped in the ice. There, she discovers an organism that appears to have died at the time of the crash, many years earlier.
But an elementary experiment accidentally releases the creature from its icy prison. Capable of perfectly replicating any living organism, it attacks the members of the expedition, decimating them one by one. Kate teams up with pilot Carter (Joel Edgerton) to try to stop the carnage.
At the edge of a continent as magnificent as it is hostile, the shapeshifting predator from another world tries to survive and thrive at the expense of terrified humans whom it infects and drives to kill each other. Release date: October 12, 2011
