Welcome to the fourth part of our tutorial series "Bulk RNA-Seq Analysis Demystified: Step-by-Step Tutorial". In this video, I'll guide you through the process of removing ribosomal RNA (rRNA) from your RNA-Seq data using the SortMeRNA package in a Conda environment.
First, I'll show you how to prepare the rRNA database by creating an rRNA index file. Then, we'll set up the necessary environment variables for SortMeRNA to work properly.
After removing rRNA, we'll use FastQC to perform quality control checks on our data and MultiQC to generate a comprehensive QC report.
By the end of this tutorial, you'll have a clear understanding of how to effectively remove rRNA from your RNA-Seq data and perform essential quality control steps, all within a Conda environment.
