This #geometry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into #lines, rays, line segments, points, and angles. It also explains the difference between the union and intersection symbols and contains a few practice problems associated with it. Lines extend infinitely in both directions. Rays have a common endpoint and extend infinitely in one direction. Line segments have a beginning and an end and possess a definite length. Angles are composed of two rays that meet at a common endpoint or a vertex.
Horizontal Line: A line that is parallel to the horizon and has a slope of zero.
Vertical Line: A line that is perpendicular to the horizon and has an undefined slope.
Diagonal Line: A line that connects two nonadjacent corners of a shape or crosses through the interior of a shape.
Parallel Lines: Lines that are always the same distance apart and never intersect, no matter how far they are extended.
Perpendicular Lines: Lines that intersect at a 90-degree angle, forming right angles.
Intersecting Lines: Lines that cross each other at a point.
Transversal Line: A line that intersects two or more parallel lines, creating corresponding angles, alternate angles, and interior angles.
Oblique Line: A line that is neither horizontal nor vertical, having a slope other than zero or undefined.
Line Segment: A part of a line with two distinct endpoints.
Ray: A part of a line that starts at a particular point (the endpoint) and extends infinitely in one direction.
Curve: A line that changes direction continuously, such as a circle, parabola, or sine wave.

Acute Angle: An angle that measures less than 90 degrees.
Right Angle: An angle that measures exactly 90 degrees. It forms a square corner.
Obtuse Angle: An angle that measures greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.
Straight Angle: An angle that measures exactly 180 degrees. It forms a straight line.
Reflex Angle: An angle that measures greater than 180 degrees but less than 360 degrees.
Complementary Angles: Two angles that add up to exactly 90 degrees. The sum of their measures is a right angle.
Supplementary Angles: Two angles that add up to exactly 180 degrees. The sum of their measures is a straight angle.
Vertical Angles: A pair of opposite angles formed by the intersection of two lines. They have equal measures.
Adjacent Angles: Two angles that share a common vertex and a common side but do not overlap.
Corresponding Angles: Angles that occupy the same relative position at each intersection when a transversal line crosses two parallel lines.
Alternate Interior Angles: Pairs of nonadjacent interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal line and between the two parallel lines.
Alternate Exterior Angles: Pairs of nonadjacent exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal line and outside the two parallel lines.
