Steps in the Dry Spinning Process
Polymer Preparation
The polymer is dissolved in a suitable volatile solvent to create a spinning solution (dope). The solvent selection is critical as it affects the fiber's properties and the efficiency of the process.
Extrusion
The spinning solution is pumped through a spinneret (a metal plate with tiny holes), which determines the number, size, and shape of the fibers produced.
Evaporation
