Walking - Girkonjárga - Kirkenes - the City hall, the old Post office and the old Telegraph
The decoration on the wall of the city hall is a relief in patinated bronze, and has as its motif a fisherman, a farmer and a miner, and behind a large tree that arches its crown over the men. The relief symbolizes the four main industries in the municipality, fishing, agriculture, mining and forestry.
The work is made by sculptor Finn Eriksen from Narvik, measures 2.10 x 3.20 meters and weighs approx. 1 ton.
