In a first, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur's incubated company Acquafront Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (AIPL) has set up a floating CNG filling station at the Khidkiya Ghat in Varanasi.
The floating CNG station has been constructed with the help of 'Self Adjusting Fixed Type Jetty technology', a patented novel technique of the IIT Kanpur incubated Acquafront Infrastructure. This system is an automated mechanism that manages the response of the edifice against the variating water level. In all, the innovation will boost eco-friendly transport and tourism in Varanasi.
