This is the final modeling video in the AIR CONDITIONER series before texturing begins. In this video, I model vents for the back of the air conditioner and the supports underneath.
Although this concludes the modeling, there will be some tweaking to do and preparation for texturing. For instance, I already increased the size of the back vents from how they were in the video. I will need to apply various modifiers, consider joining objects, setting up any special materials (I'm not sure I will need to do that) and UV unwrap everything and that will include deciding how to set up the UV islands on different UV tiles (UDIM method). So there is a lot of preparation to do.
After I complete that preparation (much of which will likely be done off-camera and then I will discuss some of it), I will bring the model into Substance Painter. I have talked about creating a normal map in Blender and something in Substance Designer for use in Substance Painter and I still hope to do that.
Thanks very much for your interest in this project!
