Zakir Bağırov: Арабеска (Arabesque)
Phillip Sear plays the last of a set of three piano pieces from 1984 by the Azerbaijani composer Zakir Bağırov (1916-96).

Zakir Bağırov (1916-96) was born in Shusha, and studied at the Moscow Conservatory. He later taught at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory in Baku. He is best-known for his stage and film music, and was also an expert on Azerbaijani folk music, writing works for folk orchestras.
