How to get 5 or 8 LED outputs on a DIG-QUAD (Part 2 - running ESPixelStick firmware)
In this Tutorial, I will show you how get 5 or even 8 LED outputs on a DIG QUAD. This is part 2 of a 2 part series. In this series, I will show you the setup/configuration of ESPixelStick firmware on the DIG-QUAD with 5 or 8 LED outputs and how to setup/control in xLights.
The DIG-QUAD will drive 5 LED outputs with the standard QuinLED-ESP32 module. If you upgrade to the QuinLED-ESP32-AE+ module which provides 3 addition LED outputs for a total of 8 LED outputs.
NOTE: LED Output 5 - Green Terminal (Q1R) is NOT buffered. It will not drive pixels as far as all the other LED outputs. Either make sure the pixels are close in distance or use a F-Amp.

Go to this directory
Applications/xLights/Contents/Resources/controllers/
Use editor to edit this file: espixelstick.xcontroller
Update this line:
MaxPixelPort 6 /MaxPixelPort
To
MaxPixelPort 8 /MaxPixelPort
NOTE: MaxPixelPort is enclosed w GT and LT symbols. YouTube does not allow these symbols in description.
Save file
Restart xLights
On a Windows Machine:
Use command prompt
Go to this directory
Program Files\xLights\controllers
Use editor to edit this file: espixelstick.xcontroller
Update this line:
MaxPixelPort 6 /MaxPixelPort
To
MaxPixelPort 8 /MaxPixelPort
NOTE: MaxPixelPort is enclosed w GT and LT symbols. YouTube does not allow these symbols in description.
Save file
Restart xLights
