Dock starting with a foil is incredibly challenging. But when there is no wind I had to scratch the itch by starting my journey with this difficult task. The last run has by far been my best. When I finally conquer this skill I'll post a full video detailing my progression, learnings, and eventual success. My big frustration was after the last video shown, I upgraded to a different foil that was faster and higher aspect. This was primarily for wing foiling but I thought it would do a better job than the foil I used in this video. I was wrong. i became so much worse and it seemed all my progress was washed away. I'm collecting all the info I can to really understand what elements on a foil are most important for dock starting.
Stay tuned for a progress report and more info on what it takes to dock start effectively.
