Apex Legends has a secret menu that allows you to check your ping to all the available servers. From there you can change your server to one with the lowest ping allowing for less lag!
How to change servers in Apex Legends:
1. From the main screen wait 30-60 seconds
2. Open the "Accessibility Options" by pressing start
3. Close the Accessibility Options menu
4. Open the Data Center (right thumb stick on Xbox)
5. Select the Server with the lowest ping
In games where timing is key (like Apex Legends) a low ping is always desirable. Low ping means smoother gameplay by allowing faster updates of game data between the players' clients and game server. High latency can cause lag.
Anything below a ping of 20ms is considered to be great, while anything over 150ms could result in noticeable lag.
Steps to improve your ping:
Use local servers
Connect your device to your router via Ethernet cable
Move closer to the router (if on WiFi)
Reduce the number of devices using Wi-Fi
This method works for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Feel free to leave me a comment. I reply to every comment I get. Thank you and have a good one.
