This intense social drama captures the fate of two friends against the backdrop of the severe political and economic crisis of the 1990s in Tajikistan. Qahhor and Manon are long-time school friends. They used to perform together in a folk instrument ensemble until the group disbanded. Later, they both found work dismantling car parts. Despite their reluctance, circumstances forced them to steal car parts from their workplace and sell them.
Qahhor was experiencing personal turmoil. He had envisioned a completely different future for himself and his sons. However, his eldest son, Alijon, turned to deceit, and his only remaining hope lay in his younger son, Azizjon, a student at the Moscow Conservatory of Music.
Once, fulfilling a request from Manon, Qahhor gave him his salary, and in return received some food and a lottery ticket. That fateful lottery ticket eventually drove a wedge between the two friends. Moreover, the incident caused division among the village residents. Qahhor won a car in the lottery, which some of the villagers perceived as unfair.
Manon fell into despair. Although he had willingly given the lottery ticket to Qahhor, his only daughter had now fallen seriously ill, and he urgently needed money for her treatment.
This situation led to the breakdown of their friendship and resulted in tragedy. Due to these conflicts, Qahhor became ill. Upon hearing that Azizjon had dropped out of the conservatory, Qahhor suffered a stroke and passed away prematurely.
However, a harsh, bitter truth was revealed after Qahhor's death...
