Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 (PS2) - Good Ending [Subtitled]
As of Feb 2019, finally subtitled!
The ending obtained by defeating the Eva Series at the end of the game. This holds in the PS2 version for (presumably) all characters except Rei and Gendo. As for why I call it the "Good Ending", this is mostly from a mechanical perspective, and not a judgment upon how "good" the depicted events actually are. Should you lose to the MP Evas, the outcome is much worse, making this "good" in comparison. The distinction is subtle, but in the Bad End, Lilith and Eva-01 seem to be entirely thrall to Seele's demands, and Instrumentality is guaranteed irreversible via the off-screen destruction of the Spear of Longinus.
This video compiles all the relevant footage I had available at the time. The game's cut scenes frequently have parts that are dependent upon variables (such as who the player character is, who the player character has a close affinity with, and whether any characters have been killed off), and the endings are no exception. When possible, alternate dialogue is spliced directly into the main movie, while the rest is collected at the very end. Many character-specific and other variations are still missing, but one has to let go of perfectionism at SOME point...
