What are the situations in which Cassandra is useful?
Cassandra is a distributed database management system with no single point of failure. It is a highly performant system that supports linear scalability. It means if you increase the specific amount of input, it will increase the output in the same proportion. In the case of Cassandra, if you need more throughput you can add more servers of similar kind, without adding anything extra for managing those servers.

With the high scale and performance, Cassandra is very useful for NoSQL database requirements in a setup where demand keeps increasing or decreasing drastically. It is also known as elastic scalability.
