Here I showcase how fast motion gameplay compares via each capture method for an NDI source. This was taken on a 2 PC stream setup.
It is clear the smoothest and fastest motion comes from NDI Tools Screen Capture, however, this has the worst pixelation of all 3.
HX has the best image quality, but even at the 60 fps setting, the stream does not appear to be 60 fps (as you would expect using a capture card).
Using OBS is like a balance between the 2 - nearly achieves (but not quite) the motion smoothness of NDI Tools High Bandwidth Screen Capture (non-HX) and also eliminates most of the pixelation caused by this method. However, it is clearly still not the 60 fps result to be expected and Screen Capture is faster.
*Audio was captured via a separate Line-In cable from the 2 PC's so was not provided by the NDI software.
**Also to note, this video has been rendered via software and uploaded to YouTube. The comparisons are even more noticeable when encoded live.
