We do things a little different, I co-sleep with my 1 year old and 3 year old and we nurse on demand. I still nurse her to sleep for naps and for bed but I night weaned my one year old to not nurse again until the sun comes up.

The things that I have found to be THE MOST IMPORTANT when night weaning a 12 month old
1. DO NOT start until until YOU are ready
2. Having a VERY clear plan with your partner
3. BE CONSISTENT otherwise you're confusing your little one
