Nikola Tesla - Genius or Charlatan? | Short Documentary
Was Nikola Tesla a genius or rather a charlatan, a charlatan who manipulated his admirers?
This video aims to answer this question, leaving the final decision up to the viewer. Elon Musk, at least, was greatly inspired by Tesla's visions, and indeed, his inventions (e.g., the "Tesla coil") were groundbreaking and fascinating.
Brief biographical information:
Nikola Tesla (born July 9/10, 1856, in Smiljan, Austrian Empire [now in Croatia] – died January 7, 1943, in New York, New York, USA), a Serbian-American inventor and engineer, discovered and patented the rotating magnetic field, the basis of most alternating current (AC) machines. He also developed the three-phase system for electrical power transmission. He immigrated to the United States in 1884 and sold the patent rights to his system of AC dynamos, transformers, and motors to George Westinghouse. In 1891, he invented the Tesla coil, an induction coil widely used in radio technology.
