Excel’s Trusted Locations feature is a powerful tool that allows you to designate certain folders as safe for opening files.

Trusted Locations are especially useful for users who work with macros or add-ins. By designating a folder as a Trusted Location, you can run macros without encountering any security warnings or prompts.

Excel’s Trusted Locations feature is also highly customizable. You can choose which folders to designate as Trusted Locations, and you can apply different sharing and security settings to each folder.

All Excel workbooks that use Macros or VBA coding should be stored in a Trusted Location as .XLSM files.

An XLSM file is a macro-enabled spreadsheet file created by Microsoft Excel. It is identical to the XLSX file format, except that it can execute embedded macros that are programmed in the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) language.

In this short video we will ‘Walk you Through’ the process of how to create Trusted Locations within your Excel application and then explain the use of Macros in the context of our EASY Accounting Spreadsheet products.
