Characteristics
Proven blue water design. It is reported that Cheoy Lee Shipyard impressed by the Philip Rhodes designed - Rhodes Reliant - flipped the deck plan and layout over a mirror image , modified the rudder, cut a foot off the overall length and marketed the Offshore 40 as its own design. About 160 were built through 1976. She has an elegant sheer line, tracks well especially under "Jib and Jigger" alone. In our really windy summer conditions she scoots along at 6kts-7.5kts. Her decks are fiberglass, large cockpit, and pedestal steering.
Priced to sell - some varnish needs refreshing, but the full boat cover will help a ton once this is done.
