I was lucky during my first trimester. I don’t doubt that I’ve had fairly manageable pregnancies.
My body is different at 39 years old, and I’ve developed varicose veins. I never thought these were that bad until having them myself. Varicose veins are swollen, twisted veins that often appear blue or dark purple, commonly occurring in the legs. They are caused by weakened or damaged valves within the veins, leading to blood pooling and the veins becoming enlarged and visible. Besides being unsightly, they can cause pain when standing for long periods. Here are some things you can do to ease the discomfort: elevate the legs above the heart and wear compression socks. I had to get compression tights but that caused me to develop varicose veins in my labia.
I stand for prolonged periods so pregnancy also caused pain in my right hip and I saw physical therapy for that.
There is an increase in body fluid during pregnancy that causes congestion. It is also known as regnancy rhinitis which goes away a few weeks after birth. I tried using nasal spray, afrin, nasal flush, humidifier, Claritin, and the netti potty. All of which helped only a little but the congestion never went away.
