Peppino Di Giugno between Naples and Paris: digital technology for real time - A Bit Of History
As part of the exhibition "A Bit Of History" (Turin, 13 May 2018) prof. Alberto Giordano presents the story of Italian physicist Giuseppe Di Giugno who in the '70s contributed in a fundamental way to the evolution of electronic music in his work between the University of Naples and IRCAM in Paris.
The seminar is hosted by Valeria Vito (PCNA Electronics / Midiware), a passionate expert in electronic sound synthesis and exponent of the micromusic scene.
A practical hands-on demonstration of Maestro Riccardo Sinigaglia, professor of electronic composition at the Milan Conservatory, completes the seminar. Using a EMS Synthi AKS and a Moog Sonic Six from the early '70s, Sinigaglia gives us a taste of the enormous possibilities and great practicality of these mythical analog instruments.
