AWS Gateway Load Balancer
The AWS Gateway Load Balancer or GLB, is a new type of Elastic Load Balancer. The GLB is used for distributing connections across third-party virtual appliances. These load balancers are often used for security purposes such as to distribute connections to Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Next-Generation Firewalls.
The AWS Gateway Load Balancer also works with Auto Scaling groups so you can ensure you have enough capacity available at all times.
