Data Talk | Why rice plantation in Ukraine dropped more than 50% since Russia's annexation in 2014?

Data can talk and the devil is in the details if we look closely, listen careful and with curiosity.
This is a surprise finding when I was doing some research about rice. When I plotted the chart, I just thought the data might be booked in somewhere else. It turned out to be a water conflict after Russia's annexation.
We are overwhelmed sometimes by information overload, we seem to know everything, and we know nothing. Due to the nature of the algorithm, which always push things we like to read or watch, make it more difficult to get information really matters to our lives. So we have to train the algorithm to fit our requests.
In this case of rice production in Ukraine, I don't know if Putin knew the water supply issue in the first place. War is really cruel, ordinary people die, ordinary people suffer. It's very sad to see what is going on in Russia and Ukraine and other war torn places.
one water drop may not have a big impact, but don't forget the ocean is made of countless water drops. every ordinary individual can play an important role to keep the world peaceful.
