Mr Fusion at UKMARS autumn 2023 | How fast is an entire Micromouse run in a typical contest?
Mr Fusion is a fairly fast searching mouse, the UK rules give you 10 minutes or 5 runs(whichever is completed first) and a mouse completes a run if it leaves the start cell either by being placed there by a person or returning on its own.
Some contests have different time constraints, The Portuguese contest gives you 10 minutes and unlimited runs but the USA APEC contest is 7 minutes or 5 runs and the Japanese contest is only 5 minutes or 5 runs. The USA APEC contest also gives you a bonus of 2 seconds if you don't touch the mouse after starting and adds a penalty proportional to the search time so you don't want to be cleaning tyres if you don't have to there.
