Google Maps has a feature called "Movements" (formerly called "Timeline"), which is enabled by default on various Android smartphones (yes, even yours). It tracks all your movements and catalogs them by location, day, time, etc. It's a veritable database of every place you've visited, every day, in every location, dating back to 2009. Disturbing? A little, yes, but also useful in some ways. The important thing is to be aware of it and know how to enable or disable "location history" on your smartphone, so you can decide whether or not to record your movements. 99% of people keep this feature enabled without even knowing it (Google uses the data to create relevant ads). In this video, we discover what Google Maps Moves (an evolution of "Timeline") is for, how to enable or disable the various features, how to delete data and history, and everything else you need to know to better manage your privacy.
