AMFITRACK Room Scale Tracking - initial demo
By combining tracking data from multiple electromagnetic sources, we can now track objects within a much larger area than when using a single source system. In the demo video, we use 4 pcs sources and the tracking area is expanded to approx. 8x8 meters. The sensor used is our standard wireless AMFITRACK Gen3 sensor. Tracking data is still full 6DOF meaning position and orientation tracking.
The main advantage of using electromagnetic tracking compared to camera based tracking is that electromagnetic tracking has no line-of-sight issues, meaning that you do not need line of sight between the electromagnetic sources and the object(s) being tracked / the AMFITRACK sensor (s).
